Wilson Di 9 Irons
July 24, 2009
Wilson has always been depending heavily on the Wilson Di 7, especially in the mid price category. With the launch of the Di 9, the attempt is to upstage the Padraig Harrington range and regain some lost ground. This iron boasts of better width at the sole as compared to the Di 7 and the weight distribution is such that the sweet spot is at the toe end of the iron, providing for greater forgiveness. This is great news for a new golfer as it allows him to rectify any flaw in his hitting at the initial stage itself without having to invest in high end irons.
This Distance iron masterpiece, with its cavity weight positioned just behind the sweet spot can really give the ball a healthy strike and what’s more, its slim design gives it a much better and sleeker look as opposed to the Fat Shaft models.
Accuracy seems to be the driving force behind the design of the Di 9 looking at its mid – size head and since this presents a much better visual appeal, professionals do not mind opting for it. In terms of positioning, though it is considered as a game improvement tool, even mid- handicappers will like the playability it offers and would like to carry it in their bags.
The Di 9 has a much better feel thanks to the urethane insert that minimizes the sensitivity and vibration shooting up the shaft in case of a mishit and this again would be welcomed by amateur golfers as a good modification. Blister free zones and easy to grip features are other advantages. When you combine this with great looks, a glossy finish and a competitive price, the Di 9 is really something that cannot be ignored.
