Tiger Woods announced his coming back at Masters
March 18, 2010
This Tuesday Tiger Woods said that the four-month break will be over while participating to next month’s Masters, starting on April 8.
His last participation to a sport event took place on November 15 when he won the Australian Masters, heading for his 82nd victory in golf tournaments. On November 27 he suffered a crash while driving his car near his house followed by outrageous leaks about his extra-marital affairs.Rumors about what happened that night started to rise and finally he confessed that he was cheating his wife in a public speak on December 11.
Although he said a lot of work is to be done in his personal life, the returning to competitions it is the next step after almost two hard months of inpatient therapy. Even though rumors said that he will return to golf at Tavistock Cup next week followed by the Arnold Palmer Invitational at Bay Hill, he denied and said that the Masters is the earliest competition he can play.
The next Masters competition has the highest TV ratings, however Tiger Woods’ return will definitely boost the ratings off the chart while all eyes will be on the champion: media, other players and fans. It is not the first time when Woods comes back after a long break from playing golf; first it was after his father passed away and second time he won the 2008 U.S. Open at Torrey Pines with a shattered knee.
Woods first became a Masters winner in 1997, when he was 21 and he continued winning this tournament three times also. In 1997 he became the youngest tournament’s champion and broke the Masters’ scoring record with a 12-shot win.
