“Bridgestone,” may evoke images of automotive tires. But, for those who have experienced the new line of golf clubs from Bridgestone’s Golf division, you know that their line of clubs is all business and geared toward the better player, with recent offerings such as the GC Mid and GC OS irons reaching out to mid and higher handicap players as well. I had experienced Bridgestone’s J33 460 driver and J33 Forged Combo irons, and had come away very impressed with both products. In their J33 Fairway and Utility clubs, it appears the technology...

The first two weeks in the British Isles have been match play and sour memories for Tiger Woods, whether it was a first-round loss at Wentworth or a resounding loss to Europe in the Ryder Cup. He returned to stroke play yesterday and to the top of the leaderboard. Woods took advantage of a soft course with slick, smooth greens for his best start of the year, an 8-under 63 capped off by an eagle on the last hole that gave him a one-shot lead over Padraig Harrington and Ian Poulter in the American Express Championship.  Read More →

LONDON - Michael Campbell will have talks with United States Tour officials this week in an effort to have a five-year restriction on competing more in America lifted. Campbell was given a 10tournament a year restriction to the end of 2008 after failing to play the minimum of 15 events in 2003 when he sought to compete full-time on the US Tour. Campbell walked out in May that year after a miserable 10-tournament run that included being disqualified from the Players Championship.  Read More →

Craig Perks has totally fallen apart in his latest tournament on the US PGA golf tour. Perks is 13 over par and stone cold last after his first round at the Southern Farm Classic in Mississippi. His round included a triple bogey and three double bogeys. The latest collapse follows on from a season from hell, where Perks has earned just $20,000 so far this year. Better news for Grant Waite. He is tied for 25th midway through his round, at 1 under. American DJ Trahan leads at 7 under. Source: nzherald.co.nz  Read More →
